Authelia New User Setup

When your account is created you will need to reset your password and enroll in 2FA before you can log into a password protected shiny server site. This will only need to be done once on a new account

Below are the instructions on how to do so. We assume you are at the login screen which should look like

Procedure

1. Click on Reset password?
2. Enter your Email when it asks you for a username and click the Reset button
3. Check your email and click on the Reset button in the email. The email may take a few minutes to arrive
4. You will be taken to a page where you can set your password. The password must be
   • 12 Characters long
   • contain a lowercase letter
   • contain an uppercase letter
   • contain a number
   • contain a symbol/special character
5. Once you set your password you will be taken back to the login page. Use your email and password to login.
6. You will then be taken to a page that asks you to set up a One-Time Password device. Click on Register Device at the bottom
7. Under One-Time Password, click ADD and follow the on screen instructions. It will then send you another email with a verification code
   
8. Copy the 8 digit code from your email and then click verify
   
9. Follow the on screen instructions to setup 2FA on your account.
   You will need a phone with a 2FA app installed (Google authenticator, duo, authy, etc)
10. Once you are done, Click the hamburger menu in the top left and click Close
    
11. Finally enter your code once more to finish logging in.
12. After completing the process you will be dumped onto the home page. This only happens the first time. In the future it will take you to your app.

You have now completed initial setup. We apologize that the process is tedious, but this is out of our control when it comes to shiny apps.
